In Croatia and Romania, child psychological abuse, including parental alienation, is considered a crime.
In Ireland, a growing number of County Councils have passed a motion from Parental Alienation Europe recognizing parental alienation as a form of child psychological and emotional abuse, calling on the Government of Ireland to act. As of March 2020, the following County Councils had passed the motion: Dublin City, Monaghan, Mayo, Kildare, Galway, Louth, Cavan, Laois, Donegal, and Carlow, along with the Council of Derry in Northern Ireland.
